It looks like my kids are not going to let me blog today, so I will quickly say that I heard on the news that Kate Middleton has asked that the phrase "and obey" be removed from the vows she and William will make on Friday.
Go Kate!
I can think of a few better promises.
Love, Honor, Cherish.
Love, Honor, Respect.
Love, Honor, Support.
Love, Honor, Be FAITHFUL!
Love, Honor, Listen.
Obey is something you tell a child to do.
2 sign your pity:
I don't even really like telling my children to obey! Only if they are being really ornery and an explanation is not getting through their stubborn head at that moment.
Here Here Sarah & Catherine;
The word "obey" is a promise of submission or dominance depending on where you stand.
I like all of your substitutions but "respect" is my favorite because I think that respect is the key to a healthy marriage/union.
Cheers,
Delaina & Kristin
